Christel Sands-Feaste is a partner in the firm's Commercial Law Practice Group and chair of the Securities & Investment Funds group. She has extensive legal experience in corporate and commercial law, asset financing, resort development and international trust and company administration. She has acted in all aspects of commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, asset financing, private placements of offshore securities, investment fund structuring and creation and estate planning. She regularly advises clients on day-to-day legal issues including licensing and compliance matters as well as other general corporate activities. Ms. Sands-Feaste has represented both domestic and foreign clients in a variety of businesses including the financial services and hospitality industries. Recent transactions in which Christel has been involved include advising a developer on a $2.5 billion resort development and financing transaction.

Prior to her admission to the Partnership of Higgs & Johnson in 2009, she served as Vice President - Legal for a family office and a leading Bahamian development company.

Mrs. Sands-Feaste was educated in the United Kingdom and holds an LLB from Reading University and an LLM in Banking and Finance Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She was called to the bars of England and Wales and the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in 1998.

Mrs. Sands-Feaste is a member of the Bahamas Bar Association and the Funds Working Group of The Bahamas Financial Services Board. In 2006, she was named as a leading commercial lawyer in The Bahamas in the International Financial Law Review 1000 ("IFLR"). In 2010, Christel was recommended by Global Law Experts in Mergers & Acquisitions Law. She has also been listed as a leading lawyer in her field by both Chambers Global and IFLR1000, 2011 and 2012 editions.
